"I've had all of them, but the 2X-S is more of an accurate reference, and the fit is unprecedented. You never even know it's there, except for the fact that there's sound coming out. I mix monitors in my 2X-S so I’ll know exactly what the artists are hearing. As a monitor engineer, I’m asked to walk that fine line between giving the artist what they want at a level that’s not going to cause them hearing damage. That’s why I love the dB Check. I run an extra in-ear receiver through an identical patch at the console to see how loud it’s getting as the show progresses. It’s so nice to have a reference of exactly how loud my artist is listening to her in-ear mix. Love it!

We’re all road guys. We beat this stuff up every day, and it’s a well-known fact out there, what works and what doesn’t. I use Sensaphonics more than any other piece. They never seem to fail, and are as comfortable as it can get. I can keep them in for a 3-hour show with no irritation, and I don’t get any sweat lodged in there.
The 2X-S is a trusted workhorse for me. When you have a stage of 16 stereo monitor mixes and they’re all different – the drummer wants to be on cans, different people want this or that in their mix and they all have different ears or even wedges, then I work from the 2X-S as a reference. I know if I get a happenin’ mix with my 2X-S, it’s going to sound good, no matter what they’re using. Sensaphonics hits it right on the mark.

My artists depend on me to recommend the right gear, and I’ve got them all on Sensaphonics. I just fell in love with the fit, the soft feel and especially the sound. All the members of Coldplay use the Sensaphonics 2MAX, and most of the backline crew have them as well. I always use them to mix shows, and also when traveling, especially when flying, as the sound quality is excellent and they are very comfortable. We have found the drivers to be very reliable. I can’t recall having a problem in the eight years Coldplay have used Sensaphonics.
