Sensaphonics has developed some circuit board modifications to the 3D bodypack that further extend the unique functionality of the system. These mods are available on a special-order basis through the Custom Shop. Products are hand-wired in our lab and can be ordered as new systems, or as modifications to existing 3D systems. Here are the options currently available:

3D-RO - Record Out mod (3DAA system)
This modification adds stereo mini (1/8-inch) jacks for Send and Return to the bodypack. This allows the user to send the audio from the 3D earphone mics to an external device, such as a digital recorder. The 3D-RO mod allows the user to capture the ambient audio for later listening, without changing the active ambient in-ear experience.  The 3D-RO is perfect for FOH engineers who want to record their concert mix for later listening, and for concertgoers who want to relive the concert exactly as they experienced it live.

Due to space limitations, the Record Out mod is only available for the 3D-M mixer. Either 3D-1 or 3D-2 ambient earphones may be used.

3D-CROS – Contra-lateral Routing Of Signal mod
This modification brings the 3D Active Ambient experience to musicians with unilateral hearing loss (deaf in one ear). For this mod, we mix the left and right ambient mic signals to the user’s functional ear, allowing them to hear ambient sounds from both sides of their head.

The 3D-CROS mod is available for all 3D bodypacks and works with both 3D-1 and 3D-2 ambient earphones. Please specify Left or Right functionality.
