Inside the 3D bodypack mixer, just above the battery are three controls - two small white switches and a rotary knob. These controls are the same in both the 3D-M and 3D-L Mixers.
- The (H) Earphone Switch is located to the left. It is used to match the mixer's electronics to the ambient earphones you ordered. This switch is pre-set at the factory to match your earphones: either single-driver (up position) or dual-driver (down).
- The (I) Limiter Switch is engaged when set to the "down" position (toward the battery). We strongly recommend the use of this feature. In the 3D system, the limiting action is performed independently on the monitor and ambience signals. It is designed to minimize the effect on musical transients and dynamics while still providing significant protection, engaging at 105 dBA-SPL. For more information, see Technical Specifications.
- The (X) Ambient Background control is a rotary knob used to set the amount of signal from the earphone microphones added to the monitor mix while in Perform mode.
The Ambient Background knob has 8 positions (labeled 0-7). The maximum ambience level is unity gain (control position "7" on the knob). Each knob position reduces ambience in 4dB steps, down to -24 dB (control position "1"). Control position "0" turns off ambience completely, allowing you to hear your normal IEM mix with no added ambient sound - just like a conventional personal monitor system. See the System Set-up section for full details.
Battery Removal
To remove a used battery, grasp the base of the battery and push it firmly toward the terminals while lifting upward.
