dB Check In-Ear Sound Level Analyzer
dB Check is the first and only device that measures the sound pressure levels reaching the ear canal. For the first time, users of Sensaphonics earphones can determine their actual monitoring level, and how long they can safely listen at that volume. dB Check is compact, affordable, and easy to use. It's literally the only way to know exactly how loud your IEM system is running.
For years, musicians have been told that one of the key benefits of going in-ear is the ability to monitor at safer levels, due to the isolation provided by the earphones. But once the earphones were inserted, there was no practical way for the artist to determine actual decibel levels within the ear canal. Until now.
dB Check works with any Sensaphonics musician earphones, simply, accurately and reliably. Simply connect it between the sound source and earphones, select the earphone model (2X-S, 2MAX or 3D) and duration (1-120 minutes), then turn up the music. dB Check then displays the audio level reaching the ear canal, in dBA. When the Duration expires, the display shows both the average SPL and the recommended exposure time limits under both OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. With this information, the musician can finally make an informed choice on how loud to monitor.
In addition, dB Check can also act as a basic sound meter, with a built-in microphone to measure and analyze ambient room noise levels. Again, just set the sample time (Duration) and place the dB Check in the desired location to get a reading.
Sensaphonics is dedicated to providing the products and expertise to helping musicians preserve their hearing for longer, more productive careers. dB Check is a major step in that direction.
