Controls and Navigation
dB Check has three controls, designed for easy, intuitive operation. The basic procedure for taking a measurement is to power the dB Check, select the measurement mode (Audio for earphone level; Mic for room level), and select the Device and Duration.
Menu Select switch
Press the switch in to select menu items. Roll the switch up or down to scroll through the selections (Device, Duration, and serial number). Roll and hold this switch to power the unit.
AUDIO button
This switch has three functions.

Press and hold to engage the "Audio" mode for earphone level measurement. The button lights up blue when active. To deactivate, press and hold until the light goes off.
- The Audio button acts as "up" key when changing settings, such as selecting your earphone model (Device) or setting the Duration.
- Power switch for on/off (press and hold).
MIC button
Like the Audio button, this switch has three functions.
- Press and hold to engage the "Mic" mode for ambient room level measurement. The button lights up red when active. To deactivate, press and hold until the light goes off.
- The Mic button acts as "down" key when changing settings, such as selecting your earphone model (Device) or setting the Duration.
- Power switch for on/off (press and hold).

- All buttons operate on a "press and hold" method. It takes approx. 1 second to activate the desired function.
- Settings are saved in memory as soon as a change is made, and become the default for the next session.
- To exit the Menu selection screen, either wait for three seconds or push in the Menu Select switch.
