dB Check Pro Firmware Update
Welcome to the Firmware Update page for the Sensaphonics dB Check Pro in-ear sound level analyzer. Here you’ll find the current version and instructions for how to download it to your dB Check Pro. All updates are free. The current firmware is Version 1.13.
To determine whether you should update your dB Check Pro, simply turn it on and press the “gear” icon (upper right) to go to the Setup page. At the top, you’ll see the Version Number of your device’s firmware. If your unit does not display the current version, it is recommended that you update now. Depending on your download speed, the entire process should take about 90 seconds.
Firmware Update Instructions
You will need your dB Check Pro, its charging/data cable (USB-A/USB-C), and computer. You need to use a supported browser - Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera. [Note: Safari and Firefox are not yet supported.] Follow these simple steps:
- Make sure the dB Check Pro is turned OFF.
- Using the supplied charging/data cable, connect the dB Check Pro to your computer.
- USB-C mini-plug connects to dB Check Pro charging/data port
- USB-A plug connects to your computer port
- Turn the dB Check Pro ON with its On/Off switch. The display will remain dark, as the unit is not operational when in programming mode.
- Wait for at least three seconds, then click the Update Now button below. This will present a popup showing the available devices detected.
- In the popup, the device name "Kinetis" or "Kinetis Bootloader" should appear. Click on the Kinetis name to highlight it. [Note: Kinetis is the name of the dB Check Pro microchip.] If the popup reads "no compatible devices found" instead, check your cable connections.
- Click the popup's Connect button; this begins the update. A status bar will appear beneath the Update Now button to show progress. When the status bar reaches 100%, your firmware update is complete. A message will appear below the status bar to confirm a successful update.
- After completion, unplug the charging/data cable, then turn the dB Check Pro OFF.
- As a final check, power the dB Check Pro back ON, then press the gear icon to go to the Setup page and confirm that the Version Number is updated.
If you haven’t already done so, we urge you the visit our Warranty Registration page to ensure you are notified when future updates become available.
