The seminar will be presented live by its creator, Dr. Michael Santucci, Au.D., fresh off his recent speaking and co-chair duties at the 2024 AES International Conference on Audio and Music-Induced Hearing Disorders in Copenhagen. With 38 years' experience serving the unique hearing needs of over 15,000 musicians and sound engineers, Dr. Santucci brings his unmatched passion and insight for music audiology to AuDacity with this acclaimed seminar.

Successful course completion qualifies the audiologist as a Gold Circle member and earns 0.5 CEUs from the American Academy of Audiology. Gold Circle audiologists are listed on our website as preferred providers of Sensaphonics custom products.

In addition to seminar attendance, Gold Circle candidates must also:

  • Pass a multiple-choice final exam to test your knowledge and comprehension of the core concepts of music audiology.
  • Ship a pair of earmold impressions to Sensaphonics for approval by our audiologists and lab technicians. Your impression techniques and materials must comply with our standards, as taught in the Master Class.

The course also includes access to video content regarding our complete product portfolio, ordering tips, and marketing strategies.

Note: This seminar is offered only to licensed audiologists and graduate school students affiliated with the A.D.A.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the listening needs of music professionals and how they are uniquely vulnerable to music-induced hearing injury.
  • Implement evidence-based practices for successful hearing conservation appointments
  • Create treatment plans for musicians with hearing loss
  • Describe a typical live music sound system setup and how the various equipment is used
  • Prepare for on-site venue visits and understand backstage etiquette
  • Recommend appropriate products for music listening, on stage and off, including high-fidelity hearing protection and custom in-ear monitors
  • Learn to take proper ear impressions for best results with custom in-ear products
  • Create marketing strategies to increase musician patient flow into your practice
  • Identy global partners in hearing health awareness and advocate for safe listening

Continuing Education Units
